How to Compare Posted Equipment Rental Prices Without Guessing
Some rental companies publish equipment rates openly. A useful comparison preserves what each company actually says instead of substituting an estimated market average. Our published-rate reference links every observation to its company source and check date. Rates remain Unverified, as published and subject to change.
1. Compare the same item and configuration
Write down the company, branch if established, equipment name/model or posted class, attachment and source date. Do not treat a similar model name or a company-wide website as proof of branch stock. Ask for the actual unit and attachment approval before renting.
2. Preserve the exact rental period
“Day”, “weekend”, “month” and “4 weeks” are not interchangeable labels. Duluth Equipment Rental publishes separate elapsed-time and meter-hour allowances for its machine examples. Keep those conditions with the price; do not turn a monthly price into a daily quote by division. Confirm pickup, return, off-rent and overtime terms.
3. Separate rate, fees and refundable holds
Selected Canton cards say “Plus taxes & fees” without giving an amount. Unknown is not zero. Denali’s opened fuel policy says gas/diesel equipment must be returned full or charged at the current dealer rate plus 3% processing, and separately describes prorated usage over its stated hours. The actual dealer fuel price and overtime amount are not established by those statements. Do not add invented fees or present the posted equipment rate as an all-in total.
4. Keep conditional attachments and delivery separate
Duluth’s implement section says prices are with skid-steer rental and double when rented alone; that condition is not a compatibility promise. Merrill Tool & Equipment says delivery is available for all rental items but asks customers to contact it for a delivery price quote. We leave that price unknown and do not submit a form. Ask which attachments, fuel, damage waiver, insurance, deposit, transport and cleaning terms apply to your exact rental.
5. Get current written confirmation
Bring the source link and date to the company and request the complete current quote and contract. A posted dollar sign without an explicit ISO currency code is retained as a symbol rather than guessed in the feed. No rate on this site is a booking, payment authorization, guaranteed availability or eligibility decision.
