How to Prepare Your Site for Equipment Delivery
Delivery goes smoothly when the drop zone is ready. Share these details with the yard when you book.
Access path
- Width and height clearance for the delivery truck and trailer (low branches, gates, wires).
- Turning room on the street or driveway.
- Weight limits on bridges, septic lids or decorative paving — ask before a loaded truck crosses them.
Drop zone
- Firm, level ground where the machine can unload.
- Space to stage attachments and a fuel or charging plan.
- Someone on site who can sign and walk around the machine for damage photos.
Before digging equipment arrives
If any work will break ground, contact 811 so utilities can be marked. Keep marks visible.
Weather and soft soil
Muddy approaches strand trucks. Ask about mats, alternate entrances or delaying delivery after heavy rain.
